• 职业发展讲座

  Grade-level programs are available to high school students through classroom presentations and workshops. 写简历之类的话题, 学习如何打造自己的品牌, what it means to bring value to a team, 创建LinkedIn个人资料, and developing professional skill sets are all essential to our program’s goals and will be covered. Topics will be evaluated on an annual basis in order to ensure lessons taught are relevant in today’s society.

  What is the difference between an Internship and an Externship – here at Belen Jesuit?

  
  

  实习提供了一个真实的生活, hands-on experience that enables the student to put into action everything they have been learning in the classroom or learn new skills along the way. 时间:最少3 - 4天.

  
  

  An externship is essentially a job shadowing experience or an opportunity to observe a day in the life of a professional(s). Students will gain a better understanding of different departments within a company and learn through practical experiences about the challenges that arise while performing a job. 时间:最少一天.

  
  

  One-day externships could also be coordinated during the school year with a group of students. Students will travel to a job site off campus with the school coordinator or a faculty member. 

• Who can participate in a summer internship?

  • Students currently in 10th/11th grade who have:
    • A good conduct record with a desire to learn about a particular profession.
    • Submitted an internship application on time (Application instructions are sent to all students and parents in the early spring).
    • Attended the “Business Lunch” Seminar (late spring)
  • As of 2023, participation in our summer internship program was capped at 100 students.

• Beyond Belen Networking and Mentorship Program

  Beyond Belen is a program offered to current juniors and seniors where students are paired with an alumni mentor based on career interests. Students are given the opportunity to ask questions at our annual meet and greet breakfast on campus and gain a deeper understanding of a career they would like to explore in the future. The Belen 校友 Association is made up of a group of highly motivated and intelligent men who are constantly searching for ways to give back and the Beyond Belen program is a testament to their service. 

  
  

  Mentee Expectations: Attend a brief training prior to the event as well as a debriefing session.

  
  

  Mentor Expectations: Follow up with your mentee throughout the course of his career and educational journey. Be open to giving advice and offering any other connections you may have to better serve the mentee and expand his network of professionals. 最后, never lose sight that some mentees may reach out a few years down the road once they have a better understanding of their career path.
